Booking the band

Anything But Ordinary come fully equipped with everything needed to put on a great show. Our comprehensive PA system ensures a great sound for both the live set and discos, indoors or out, whilst our lighting rig really adds to the party atmosphere. In addition to our live set, we can also supply you with a disco to really complete your evening.

The Anything But Ordinary package includes:

• The band performance for a length of time to be mutually agreed. This will typically be two sets of live music or around 2 hours, longer sets can be provide on request.
• All recorded music for before the band, between sets, and for a short time afterwards, according to your needs.
• Full front of house sound system, scaled to an appropriate size for your venue,
• Microphones which may be used for speeches or announcements by prior arrangement
• Varied lighting rigs, both for the stage area and for the dance floor

Our charge is based upon aspects such as the type of function, event times, travelling distance and any other special requirements. Please contact us for a firm quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions.

Q. Do Anything But Ordinary play at charity events ?
A. Yes Anything But Ordinary are happy to help good causes with their fund raising by providing their services at reduced rates where they have space in their busy schedule. Please contact us for more details.

Q. Will I be able to see Anything But Ordinary play ‘live’ before I book them?
A. Most of Anything But Ordinary are private functions were the clients may not be too keen on strangers dropping in on their celebrations, so this isn't always easy to arrange. However, Anything But Ordinary do play pub and other public gigs so this can usually be arranged.

Q. How much stage space does Anything But Ordinary require?
A. Anything But Ordinary will require a stage area approximately 5 meters wide x 4 meters deep. They will have PA speakers positioned either side and in front of them and possibly lighting equipment stands either side or over the top of the band area.

Q. What power supply do the band need?
A. Check that the venue has at least 3-4 standard plug sockets in very close proximity to the bands performance are Anything But Ordinary will bring extension leads and multi-plug adapters as required.

Q. What if the reception is in a marquee?
A. If you’re holding an event in a Marquee, please ensure sufficiently powerful generator be provided, or that a dedicated electricity supply is made available exclusively to the band This supply should not be shared with any one else or overloading may occur.

Q. When will the band set-up ?
A. The band usually set up 1-2 hours before performance. Anything But Ordinary charge an additional fee to arrive and set up prior to a function or where the band have to wait for a prolonged period at the venue before performing, this will be negotiated when booking.

Q. How disruptive is set-up a?
A. The band are as discreet as possible and surprisingly quiet when setting up the equipment. Sound check time is required by Anything But Ordinary to mix instrument volume levels, fine tune equipment settings and get the show prepared.

Q. Does the band require a dressing room?
A. No, but if available this is much appreciated.

Q. Should I provide a changing room and/or refreshments ?
A. We do not require a dressing room or any particular hospitality. However, if there is a room we can use for getting changed in, it is appreciated. We do not require a bar tab or any particular food, however an invitation to the buffet table is always appreciated

Q. Do I need to be mindful of issues regarding access?
A. Yes ! Check in advance that the band has easy access to the function room. Huge flights of stairs and very long corridors make loading time increase to the point that your event schedule could be seriously affected. If the band cannot park and unload their equipment within a close distance please advise when booking.

Q. How late can Anything But Ordinary play ?
A. We will play up to 11:30pm, and can play recorded music for another 30 minutes after that to take us to midnight. We can play later on request but our quotation will not cover playing any later than that unless specified.
